I had the babies!! February 3, 2009. It was a crazy day. I kept thinking that I wasn't in labor and that it was going to pass. Shawn was working in Vegas and I didn't want it to happen that day. So I waited to long and went into full blown labor without Shawn. I drove myself to the Hospital and checked in. They said that I was ready now so call your husband. Shawn drove 115 all the way but they had to take me in for an emergency c-section. He missed the whole thing but my mother-in-law was there. It was so frightening having a c-section. I was not to bad healing time though. My babies were rushed to the NICU. Our boy had trouble breathing. After almost a month in there we got them home. It has been a blur since they got home. Welcome to the world Ozzie Ikaika Opunui 4lbs 12 oz and Lilly Malia Elizabeth Opunui 4lbs 8oz.

First time

People keep saying that I should be blogging. So, I am gonna try it. We just moved to Saint George after living in the Salt Lake City area for almost 3 years. We didn't love that snow. In fact it was rotten! So we are going to try out Saint George and see if this is more our style. 

In that time we had our first born Mia Lani. She is so full of life and excitement. I am crazy about her and so is Shawn. I swear she could get Shawn to do anything for her. We like her so much we decided to have another. We never expected to have Twins (a boy and a girl)! I am almost 8 months and it feels like my body is going to crack. I never knew how much the body could mutate in order to accommodate babies. I can't imagine more the two. Oh ouch!! 

To answer the usual questions...No twins don't run in our family, No I wasn't taking fertility drugs and yes fraternal twins can be spontaneous. So it could happen to any of you. (haha) We have a theory about how this happen. You see my mom died a year ago and she was always rooting for more grandchildren. 

    We are so very excited and with that being said I am terrified. I remember having one infant and thinking that it was unquestionably stressful.  But as for now... I am ready. We know what we are getting into and we are ready.  Technically they could be born any day now. What I think is going to happen is I am going to break open at the belly button and they are going to come out Alien style. No I'll bet they wait till their due date (March 20th).

Shawn is the most amazing daddy. He plays barbies with the best of them. He know all the princesses names and plays my little pony with vigor. I know he is going to be so amazing with our second little girl. I can't wait to see him with our first boy. As for me I have all new pluming to figure out and I can't wait to do it all again with our next little girl. We have so much to look forward to.
